My first boat (1993 Hydrasport 1850CC) was a good economic choice for a first boat, but turned out to be a poor choice for the type of fishing that I found that I enjoyed the most (Bluewater trolling for Pelagic species). It only took one 10 day Keys trip (the wind blew constantly) with the Hydrasport to convince me that I needed to upgrade the boat considerably for real offshore use. The Hydrasport 1850CC hull weighed a ton (actually more than a ton), drafted too much water to work inshore, and wasn't nearly long/big enough to work offshore except on perfect weather days.
In the driveway....
So I began the search for a 'real' offshore boat....
